At Dreams, all childen will have the opportunity to learn how to ride a two-wheeler. The Centre has a seven balance bicycles (#1 Bicycle Recommended By Ken to Learn How to Ride a Bicycle) and parents can also bring their child's bicycle to the Centre. Dreams has a fenced-in paved parking lot and Ken is passionate about teaching children to learn how to ride a bicycle.
When a child learns to ride a two-wheeler, they learn the ups and downs of trial and error, balance, starting and stopping -- and as long as a child does not give up, there is nothing they cannot do! The environment at Dreams Unlimited is open to helping your child make the transition from training wheels to two wheels using a fun, easy, and stress-free method. A child's sense of pride in learning to ride a two-wheeler is a most amazing outcome of their own courage and resilence. Some of the older children are proud that they also can be involved in teaching the younger children how to ride a two-wheeler.
Cycling is mainly an aerobic activity, which means that the heart, blood vessels and lungs all get a workout. We breathe deeper, perspire and experience increased body temperature, which will improve one's overall fitness level.
The health benefits of regular cycling include:
Ken has taught over 250 kids using the "no pedals no training wheels" method. Feel free to scroll down to the bottom on this page to look at some of our previous two-wheel champions!
The Steps
- Flat Feet when bum on saddle
- No Training Wheels
- No Pedals
- Pump Tires Hard as less rolling resistance
- Walk then Fast Walk
- Feet Up & Speed Count (a count of 20 three times in a row is the goal)
- Pedals Back On

Ken has developed a two-page blueprint on how to pick the right bicycle for your child. If you are making a purchase of a bicyle or a helmet, you will want to read this document first.
Ken also holds regular Learn to Ride community events as well. Check out the "balance-first; no-pedals" method used with these children:
